Do you have the time to listen to me whine?
See what I did there?
Hey folks, sorry about the lack of big updates on this here newsletter. Life has been busy and, also, I’ve been trying to just not be online all the time. But, I’ve still been doing things and, if you’re hankering for some incisive music criticism, you’re in luck!
Today, I was a guest on The Nimrods Podcast, which is a podcast about Green Day. The hosts James and Jake are good pals, and it’s a very fun little thing they’ve got going over there. It’s basically what my friend Tim and I do for Alkaline Trio, but about Green Day. On this episode, we talk about the songs “Take Back” (weird and good) and “Restless Heart Syndrome” (neither weird nor good) while also discussing how I got into the band (my mom owning Dookie when I was a literal child). If that interests you, go give it a listen on whatever podcast platform you prefer, be it Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, or some other thing.
In more life-related news, the lack of updates has largely stemmed from the fact I decided to quit my day job for reasons that I should probably not go into, but maybe I’ll go into some time because I like to live dangerously. Time will tell. Also, if you’ve been following along with this thing, it also means that I’ll be in an even more precarious insurance situation for a little bit, because apparently I’ve learned absolutely nothing after going through this whole thing. So yeah, you know, Medicare for All is a good idea that I support, and if you don’t feel that way, you can always email me and we can go back and forth on it. I mean that in the most non-aggressive way possible, I promise.
Anyway, here’s my favorite Green Day song. If you disagree, you can also email me about that, in which case I will be much more aggressive in my tone and tenor.
